About me

Hello, I'm Axel, a UI designer and front-end developer from Hermosillo, Mexico. I've been working in the software industry for 20+ years. My things are HTML, CSS, JavaScript and similar stuff. I also do web and app design, illustration and lettering.

I'm a big believer on the open web, free access, and web standards, and that's probably why this website exists. Over the last years I've left most of social media, and that's why I have a blog again.

I tend to obsess over things that I like. I'm into music, podcasts, zines, movies, TV, and whatever I add to the pile this week.

I'm diagnosed with depression, anxiety and ADHD, and I love to talk about those things. I'm medicated and in good shape, and trying to learn from the times when I'm not. Sometimes I write about it.

If you want to say hi or share a thought, please do it. I love connecting with people, and I read everything I get. The best way is probably still email, and if not the best, at least my favorite. I'm still on Instagram but I don't expend enough time there to guarantee an answer. So, email, please. :)

What I'm into right now

Getting serious about taking control and rebuilding, in an ample sense.

I have 16 unopened vinyl records I haven't listened to just because. I intend to find the time to sit and give each one of them my full attention.

I also have between 10 and 15 "opened" books. I intend to read them all in the first half of the year. I will eventually post a list here, so I can stroke out what I read.

I'm also going offline for my music. I don't intend to stop using Apple Music, but I want to be fine with not having an internet connection to access my things. I'm using an iPod classig (6th gen, I think), a cassette player (Fiio CP13), and my couple of trusty Audio Technica turntables (a lp-120 and a lp-60x).
