Knowvember is an idea from Robert Birming to let others know more about yourself. This is my entry.

Right after posting I noted Robert spelled it "Knowember", but I'm leaving it as it is 😬.

Name or nickname

My full name is Guillermo Axel Valdez Güereña (long-ass Hispanic names with symbols on top of the letters, right?), but I usually go by Axel Valdez.

Axel is so distinctive in my environment, especially for my generation, that I'm in the minority of Mexicans who don't have a nickname. Or well, mostly: my dad has called me "Cheetos" since I was a kid.

Where in the world I blog from

From wherever I am, but usually from Hermosillo, México, the city I've lived in since 2011.

What my blog is mostly about

Whatever is obsessing me at the moment. Sometimes I write about technical stuff, other times I ramble about something I love (or something that annoys me, although I'm trying to cut back on that). It really is my nest, built slowly with small branches of everything that's important to me.

Mostly, I write about my processes, my insights on life, and my growth journey, in one way or another. I also tend to overshare about my neurodivergence and mental health, but I like it that way. I like to think that maybe somebody who needs to read about it will stumble upon it and consider that they're not alone and/or they might need help, too.

This site is also my playground, not just on the content side, but mostly on the development and code-experimentation side of things.
